About the Chocolatier
Jeconiah Dreisbach is a Filipino social scientist and founder of the confectionery startup Bombonería Dreisbach in Manila. He took Philippine Studies at De La Salle University and his PhD in critical sociolinguistics at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya in Barcelona. Moreover, Jeconiah studied graduate-level courses in global politics (Center for Global Politics, Freie Universität Berlin) and language acquisition (Universität Potsdam). He also finished the Management Development Program of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs (The University of Texas at Austin).
Having been exposed to a great variety of confectionery during his travels around the world, Jeconiah decided to venture into the culinary industry and introduce chocolates with unique Filipino and Southeast Asian flavors. Despite shifting to being a full-time startup entrepreneur, he remains active in academic pursuits through his pro-bono research consultancy, membership in international journal editorial boards, affiliation with Philippine and international research bodies, and continuous research publications. Prior, Jeconiah held teaching and research positions at De La Salle University, the American University of Sharjah, and the Asian Institute of Management.
